How do I take an online Course/Exam?
1. Choose a course from the catalog. Once you find the course that you want to take roll the mouse over the course title and click on it. The reading material will appear.
2. After reading the course material, take the online test.
3. After submitting the exam the payment page will appear.
4. After submitting the payment page the test results will appear.
5. After the test results page you will be asked to submit a course evaluation. Once the evaluation is turned in the certificate will be issued immediately online .
How do I take an exam?
You must be logged on to take an online exam. To obtain a username and password you will need to register by clicking on the Create Account link located on the top of each page. If you are not logged in you will see the test preview page only. Once you have registered and logged in you will see a test page with radio buttons next to each answer that you can click on. On the course catalog page and on the course material page, you will find links to the test material. The link found within the course material allows the exam to open in a new browser window. Once you have submitted the test you will be asked to submit the payment. After the payment has been submitted the results and certificate of completion will be issued online.
Is my test being timed?
No, you can take as much time as needed to complete the exam. The answers that you enter into the test field will be saved automatically. If you leave the site, upon your return you will be able to pick up where you left off. To access the exam that you previously started, log in to your account and click on my tests.
Re-taking the Exam:
You can retake the exam at any time. If you would like to study and come back later, simply logon when you return and click on the my tests button. You can take the exam as many times as needed without any additional cost.
How many times can I take an exam?
You can take the exam as many times as needed and only pay once.
How do I know if I passed the exam? Once the test and payment have been submitted the results followed by the certificate of completion will be issued immediately online.
Passing Score: 70%
How do I pay for the exam?
After you submit the exam, you will be sent to the payment page. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. After you enter the payment information, through our secure site, the results and certificate will be issued online.
Taking the Exam by mail: If you would like to take the exam by mail please indicate the following: Name, Address, License Type, License Number, Phone Number, Email Address, Course Title, and Answer to Test Questions (i.e. 1a 2c 3b etc.). Don t forget the evaluation form. We will score your test and post the certificate of completion the day we receive it from you. The check should be made out to Vista Continuing Education and mailed to the following address: Vista Continuing Education, P.O. Box 1284, Camarillo, CA 93011-1284. Please let us know that your test has been sent.
How do I access the course reading material?
At the top of this page you will see a link called Course Catalog. Click on the course catalog link to begin. To the right of each course title there is a link that reads "Course Study Material". Click on the link to view the study material. Once you have logged in you will find each course in its entirety. When you have read the course material and would like to take the exam, you will find links to the exam on the course material page and within the course catalog.
How do I register?
On the homepage click the Create Account link on the top of the page. Fill in the account form. There is no charge to create an account. You will only be charged when you submit the exam for scoring.
How do I update my online profile? To update your profile, log in and click on Edit my Profile on the bottom of the My Account page. Change the information that you would like and click on update. If you would like to change the license number or the spelling of your first or last name please notify us by email at Contact Us . You may have also noticed that the Password and Confirm Password fields are blank. The Password can still be changed. Just enter the new password, confirm the password and click on update. To maintain the highest level of security we do not allow for the visibility of the password.
I lost my certificate of completion? My printer is out of ink? I need a copy of my certificate? I want to view all of the courses I ve completed:
Certificate of Completion: If you have lost your certificate of completion and/or want to view your completed courses simply log in with your email address and password. All completed certificates will be stored online indefinitely. You can view and print your certificate from any computer.
When will I receive my certificate of completion? After submitting the exam you will be asked for payment information. Once the payment has been received the results will be displayed on the following screen. After reviewing your score you will be asked to submit an online evaluation page. After the evaluation page has been submitted the certificate of completion will immediately be issued. The certificate can be viewed and printed from any computer as long as you have logged into the site.
How long will my certificate remain on file? You certificate will remain on file indefinitely.
Can I print more than one copy of my certificate? You can print an unlimited number of copies.
Online/Interactive CE vs. Self-Study The way a course is submitted after it is completed determines whether it can be counted as self-study or through Online/Interactive means. If you complete the course electronically, and submit the results electronically, the hours can be considered as regular CE. However, if you submit the completed course to the provider through the mail, those hours are considered self-study.
Receipts: Receipts are emailed to the email account that you provided on the payment screen immediately upon receipt of payment.
Not yet licensed/no license number? On the Create Account page under license type choose "I do not have a license". You can leave the license field on the create account screen blank as long as you chose the option I do not have a license from the drop down menu under license type.
Multiple license numbers? You can enter up to three license numbers in the license field: example: Mft2844, Brn3466, SW65656. The certificate will print exactly as the information is entered. Still not sure? Email us with any questions.
Troubleshooting and Error Messages
Most Common Logon Problems:
1) I can't log on: Try our forgot password feature on the Logon Page. You can find the Logon page by clicking on the logon link located at the top of each page.
(2) If your not already using Internet Explorer as your browser, please give it a try. This may fix the problem.
(4) An anti-virus program may be blocking your ability to logon. Temporarily disable the anti-virus software and try to logon again.
(5) Try logging in from another computer.
If you continue to have trouble logging in please email us right away.
Other technical problems: Please notify us of any technical issues you might be having. This site has recently been reprogrammed into a new programming language so that we can provide advanced features to our customers. We have testing the site to the best of our ability. This does not preclude new unforeseen problems from arising. We would love to hear from you. Please email us with any concerns, error messages or technical issues.
I may have paid for the same course twice?
Please let us know through email. We will void out all duplicate payments.
What form of payment do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and personal checks. We only accept checks through the postal mail.
Cancellation/refund policy: Please email us if you would like to cancel a transaction or if you think you may have submitted your credit card information twice. We almost always catch double payments and notify the participants. We would still encourage you to let us know by using the contact us link. We will immediately refund any cancelled courses. We will void any payments that have been made in error.
